An ally or an enemy?

Several readers raised the possibilities of this Chinese/Taiwanese psychopath and habitual liar Ya-Chang Robert Lin selling or handing over to “foreign” government or interested third-parties sensitive proprietary and personnel information that he had access to throughout his employment at AAFES or The Exchange … 

I am mentioning it here as the chances are very real: how easy is it for this Chinese/Taiwanese psychopath and habitual liar, under the guise of IT auditor and/or IT systems engineer/architect, to download sensitive data to his cell phones, laptops and external drives and transport them back to his own countries via the same mechanisms?

I would not put it past him … A man is made by his abilities; this Chinese/Taiwanese psychopath and habitual liar Ya-Chang Robert Lin is made by his lifelong frauds, which are now slowly being unraveled.

as President of said business, he had knowingly helped both mainland Chinese and Taiwanese students looking to enter the United States with the intention of gaining permanent US resident status under the pretense of studying; 

as President of said business, he had purposely evaded paying taxes on the commissions received from it and failed to report the earned income to the IRS by having the payments wired back to Taiwan to his mother Chang Hsueh; 

he had applied for reinstatement of his F-1 or student status and a change of status, while knowingly withheld the preceding facts on his own applications for permanent resident and citizenship in the United States. 

And those are just the tip of the iceberg. Ya-Chang Robert Lin had been employed at AAFES or The Exchange headquarter in Dallas, Texas as an information technology auditor, where he managed to steal—by downloading to CDs that he kept in his personal possession while abiding for time and opportunities to "do business" in Taiwan and/or China—thousands of his colleagues’ Social Security numbers and personnel files while working on one of its HR projects. The HR data on one of these projects became the basis for an academic paper, speaking proposal for ISACA, and a consulting business he was "collaborating with " [more like conning other people into developing and fronting for him]. 

Ya-Chang Robert Lin is a reprobate with a seared conscience. Lacking normal capacity for empathy, remorse, and reciprocation of good will, he is addicted to lying, cheating, and stealing for the pure pleasures derived from being able to get away with it. Because he is such a good liar—so charming and well versed in manipulation techniques and acting skills—it is hard to distinguish him from reprobates. 

Ya-Chang Robert Lin was able to dupe some of the smart people in federal government [AAFES or The Exchange, USCIS, ICE, and DHS], higher education [Fort Hays State University and Navarro College], and information technology auditing and security [ISACA and ACFE]. Among his legacy: A son who refused any connection with him and wished that he were dead.

An aesthetic play?

Classes were not held this past weekend … From their social networking site, with corresponding translation in English from his Korean posting: 

Classes are cancelled this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Out of love

This whole week, my friend and her partner have been arriving at the studio on his BMW K 1300 SS motorbike, an eye candy model of engineering—almost as beautiful as its riders. Despite working a five-days, eight-hours week, Phandeluys manages to radiate focused energy and carefree happiness in her demeanor … My friend looks as if she is in her life, in life …

From their social networking site she posted this: I am alive. I feels as if I’d been awakened, Sleeping Beauty-like, from a Long Sleep. In fact, I don’t seem to need much sleep at all, as if all the years of struggling in a slumber [of a “marriage” and its aftermath] had at least set me up to dispense with rest … I love work and I love life, every aspects of it; there are hidden import to be found in everything … Amazing awakedness? It doesn’t matter what ____ [her partner] calls it, I am more refreshed every day with more energy and clarity; I have no colds, no aches … and I know anything—anything!—is possible … . I am Happy, indeed. And in love … For now, I am contented with these feelings; the story I am choosing to tell about these feelings, however, must await another time …

Tonight, my friend was rapt with a child and his storytelling in a corner of the studio. A couple, deprived of their regular babysitter, opted to bring their son to the studio, hoping the child might find occupation with his homework while they try to master the Samba and Cha Cha Cha pattern and choreography. I can tell, from the first moment that she spied him in his little corner, that she had fallen in love with him. The way she came to him, stayed with him, and treated him—enthusiastic, strict, full of ideas—as if he was her own child …

I envy her surreptitious wink for the boy and their exchange of laughter and smile, as if amused by a joke only they had heard … I do not know about other students and how they felt, but next to a child, I felt as though I was a mere shadow of some other self that stood, just there, just beside me.

Alive ... and definitely kicking [up]

Phandeluys and her partner are keeping their creative momentum going this past weekend with an International Samba and Cha Cha Cha choreography to his remix of Mr. Saxobeat, Festa De Un Provo and Tic Tic Tac with Lady Gaga thrown in … 

There is a lustful exhibitionist deep inside my friend—that fun, playful, sexy, and creatively charged side that comes out when she is with the people she trusts … a part I have always suspected yet have never quite witnessed nor experienced until this weekend past. 

She seems very comfortable in her own skin and watching her samba- and chacha-ing makes me closer to the person I imagine myself to be: someone who does not care about all the wrong things, likes fashion or status, but who ferrets out the genuinely interesting. 

Seeing her dance, I get her and I get me … it is really quite bracing.

More than just dancing ...

In our relentless pursuit to try and imitate my friend and her partner’s American Rhythm Rumba and Bolero choreography, we ended up looking as if we were dancing on snakes. His choreography and their dancing is like a new mystery waiting to be unfolded, every spellbinding step and alluring move reveals a story in need of its ending—when it is visually rendered by them. Connection and chemistry are that indefinable and equally missing quality that made our dancing utterly cringe-worthy tonight …her eyes reflected amusement while his prayed for soothing blindness that alternated with suspected betrayal …

There are dance steps and patterns that diminish the dancer, or shame him or her in the eyes of the others [or even our own] … tonight, there was nothing admiring in the mirrors or on the canvas we tried painstakingly to draw and paint … Odd—yes; beautiful—no.

Proust's the lover

This past weekend, Phandeluys’ partner surprised her and the class with an American Rhythm Rumba and Bolero choreography that is inspired by the soundtrack from one of their favorite movies, “Sweet November.” 

Both his remix of the musical compilation and choreographic vision were ethereal and sweepingly romantic … By God, I felt and felt and felt … One thought kept coming back to me as he lead her through the choreography and she responded with such gentle finesse, quiet confidence and synchronousness: People who are meant to be together will find each other, throughout space and time … 

There are times in life like this, where you know intuitively that everything hinges on this time and nothing will be the same again, when, as a consequence, your brain remembers, it notices the small things … Your mind retained all these things of its own accord, as if they might be necessary to know—simply because it was Important … Although I was filled with such joy witnessing the intimacy of their dancing, somewhere in my heart, it rained as if the gods were disconsolate—I sense the importance, but only that. What it is and what it means I may not fully understand, perhaps not for months but for years …

First, 401K; then, IRA

I am amazed at how swiftly my friend can let things go—be it a grudge, a limiting belief, or a situation that is past its expiration date, Phandeluys can just walk away and not glance backward with regrets … during the years I have observed her, this ability to float onward with the conviction that there is a creative breakthrough or a spiritual awakening ahead that will reveal an important lesson she was meant to learn has served her well.

I am not that charitable nor do I have that kind of unfailing faith …

Remember this handwritten agreement [http://faces-of-fraud.blogspot.com/2012/11/marital-love-taiwanese-and-chinese-way.html] between Phandeluys and Chinese/Taiwanese psychopath Ya-Chang Robert Lin that contracted her assistance and support for helping him get his $70,000 promotion at AAFES with the promise that he will fund her retirement account for $2000 each year thereafter? The one habitual Chinese/Taiwanese liar and thug denied making on the stand during the trial?

There is a 2009 personal check for half that amount payable to P.A. Truong [psychopath and proven thug shortened my friend’s beautiful names to P.A. to accommodate his inadequate English speaking skills and mask his lack of caring in making true efforts in correctly pronouncing his beloved's name].

Here is what my friend wrote in her diary about the event:  

Today, after more than six months’ worth of verbal reminders from me, he finally wrote me a check for $1000—half the amount—as part of our verbal and written agreement for my help in strategizing, mapping, managing, and writing all correspondences for his promotion involving Web EDI at AAFES. ... I am relieved—perhaps there might still be some redeeming quality to this person and this relationship that is worth saving …  

It’s not yet two full weeks and here he is asking about the $1000 check for my IRA: whether I had already cashed it and if not, would I please hold off cashing it because his bank account is low. He then suggested that I tear up the check and on his next payday, he will withdraw $1000 cash for me … That cash never came, on the next payday or the next paycheck, for months that turned into years on end ... I am still waiting to see if he will honor his promise to and contract with me, without further promptings from me.

Glancing backward, I wonder if there might have been a part of me that was aware of his scamming and wanted to verify whether this person could and would cheat, steal and rob members of his own family out of their future? I think I overestimated familial ties and what that concept means to this Chinese/Taiwanese hypocrite and psychopath.

This series of posts documents the fraudulent, sometimes criminal, and frequent unethical/immoral activities of Ya-Chang Robert Lin, a Taiwanese native of mainland Chinese parentage, who defrauded a naturalized US citizen, Phandeluys Truong, into a marriage that had been his shield against USCIS for his intentional violations of immigration law: 

as a nonimmigrant F-1 student, he had willfully operated an international students recruiting business without prior work authorization from the then United States Immigration and Naturalization Service; 

as President of said business, he had knowingly helped both mainland Chinese and Taiwanese students to evade military drafts in their countries by facilitating their applications to study in the US and abroad; 

as President of said business, he had knowingly helped both mainland Chinese and Taiwanese students looking to enter the United States with the intention of gaining permanent US resident status under the pretense of studying; 

as President of said business, he had purposely evaded paying taxes on the commissions received from it and failed to report the earned income to the IRS by having the payments wired back to Taiwan to his mother Chang Hsueh; 

he had applied for reinstatement of his F-1 or student status and a change of status, while knowingly withheld the preceding facts on his own applications for permanent resident and citizenship in the United States. 

And those are just the tip of the iceberg. Ya-Chang Robert Lin had been employed at AAFES or The Exchange headquarter in Dallas, Texas as an information technology auditor, where he managed to steal—by downloading to CDs that he kept in his personal possession while abiding for time and opportunities to "do business" in Taiwan and/or China—thousands of his colleagues’ Social Security numbers and personnel files while working on one of its HR projects. The HR data on one of these projects became the basis for an academic paper, speaking proposal for ISACA, and a consulting business he was "collaborating with " [more like conning other people into developing and fronting for him]. 

Ya-Chang Robert Lin is a reprobate with a seared conscience. Lacking normal capacity for empathy, remorse, and reciprocation of good will, he is addicted to lying, cheating, and stealing for the pure pleasures derived from being able to get away with it. Because he is such a good liar—so charming and well versed in manipulation techniques and acting skills—it is hard to distinguish him from reprobates. 

Ya-Chang Robert Lin was able to dupe some of the smart people in federal government [AAFES or The Exchange, USCIS, ICE, and DHS], higher education [Fort Hays State University and Navarro College], and information technology auditing and security [ISACA and ACFE]. Among his legacy: A son who refused any connection with him and wished that he were dead.

Bringing fresh eyes to the game

Ever since enrolling in their semi-private group classes for dancesport training, I have been wondering what it is that inspires my friend and her partner in coming up with such uniquely creative visions for their two-dance combination choreography. Tonight, a student finally gave voice to my wonderment.

Seesawing between Paso Doble and Tango

Last night, my friend and her partner were totally tearing up the dance floor with their lusty, flirtation-filled choreography of the International Paso Doble and Tango … it is breathtaking to see them indulging in their more free-spirited, hedonistic side. His side is quite reflective in how and why he dresses so well; I sometime envy Phandeluys’ partner’s bold use of color … her side is safely tucked away behind all those creative projects she pours her festive and overanalyzing energy into, competitive ballroom or dancesport being one …

I am mesmerized by and drawn to the way they dance the Paso Doble: sumptuous and extravagant yet romantic with a melancholy that just gets me …

This time, I must ask for their music compilation … there is something powerful and historical about the mix, giving me “license to indulge in endless role-playing fantasies—a female Argonaut pursued by Hercules, the Grand Vizier’s most favored wife, handmaiden to a knight’s lady. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Helen of Troy … “ [that is Phandeluys’ description of their Paso Doble and Tango choreography and music … I love being the heir to their ballroom dramatics].

I am eagerly awaiting classes tonight even though from the way she has been smiling at him—full of happiness and warmth that I can feel from a distance—I know that what is growing and developing between them is strong. It is as if she knows what he wants from their relationship and what he needs from her, and she is committed to making that happen. What I am seeing is the grafting of one heart to another ...
