In me

In life there comes a time when we can feel like we're on the brink of a breakthrough or the edge of a breakdown, taking us on terrifying journeys to parts unknown; and not until the "eye" of perception aligns with the "I" of identity would a threshold of awareness may be crossed that will enable feelings to form into words.

In nights always forgotten by resurrection, when you are aware of moments without sound, what sustains you until the light is in you?  Music and poetry have been my constant companions through life, especially so when twilight and distance are in me.  Below are two songs I am obsessing over; they came from a compilation I recently received and that was put together by a friend from my days back in college at the University of Oklahoma.

Sorry but the links to the above-referenced songs were disabled as of 4th July; the songs are subjects of an ongoing dance pattern a friend and I are choreographing ... I may consider reactivating the links once we are happily finished with, and can execute the choreography to our satisfaction.

Until then, may you find that self-expressive tide that taps into your heart's desires to explore your fantasies and to watch your Technicolor dreams unfold.

  1. What are the names of the tracks? Finding myself completely submerged in their emotional currents and yearning to pick up my paintbrushes again ...

    1. Hello, Simon. I, too, would love to know the names of the songs; sadly, I do not. My friend can be quite guarded about his sources, and sometimes, it is enough that we share space, time, passions, love, and understanding as is.

Enjoy the music and when you finish your visual design, I would love to see it.

  2. Do you like jazz music?

Want to meet me at the Dallas Museum of Art for an evening of live jazz and casual dinner, cocktails optional? Promise to get you home by 8:30 and no twirling you around the dance floor ...

    1. It sounds wonderful, Lawrence. And even though I am flattered by your attention and interest in me, am not in a position to devote myself to developing and nurturing any long-term relationships at this time.

    2. No long-term relationship, then. How about embracing me as a friend whom you can call upon for comfort? I can be an excellent friend for hiking, cooking, music, and creating a serene environment.

  3. Will you consider attending a concert, art exhibit or other intellectually stimulating activity with me this weekend? Message me! And give your wounded heart a chance to heal ...

    1. No wounded heart here, Lawrence; just a wake-up call and time for repairs and transformations on all four planes of life.

Thanks for the invite; I will think on it and get back with you.
