Cleaning, the Chang-Lin style

I don't know how my spouse and his parents define cleanliness and cleaning up, but for me, the concept of cleanliness does not equal to being able to still smell, see, and feel the remnants of last night's food on just-washed dishes and utensils [whether hand- or machine-washed].

Furthermore, stacking up uncleaned things inside a room without even a dusting or a vacuuming [where one actually lifts up and moves the furniture instead of navigating around them], then closing the door does not equal containment of bacteria, dusts, mites, and stinks that emanate from the dirty spaces.  Shouldn't this be obvious and self-evident [or did laziness, self-centeredness, coupled with having been raised in poverty obliterated that]?
