The beloved freezer [not]

The big freezer, after a five-year hiatus from yearly spring cleaning; and after my spouse had finished "deep-cleaning" it with water and one soft scrubbing pad—no other cleaning / sterilizing agents, nor vinegar mixed with water.  Imagine the stinks from foods that were stored inside, anywhere from three to five years, during which time period there were multiple blackouts in the community and the surrounding area [think raw meats that were defrosted and refrozen].
